The brief for this Brooklyn one bed apartment nestled on a quiet, residential Brownstone filled block included the gut renovation of the kitchen, bath, new flooring, and millwork throughout. The client was looking to create a space that maximized light, was bright, airy and full of modern touches.
In the kitchen, we opted to focus on lower cabinetry only, and open up the space to make a smaller space feel more expansive. We decided to highlight the craftsmanship of the custom millwork by exposing traditional finger joinery on the oak cabinet fronts. To complement the somewhat rustic look, we opted for a black soapstone with white veining for a look that is both practical and timeless.
in the bath, we sourced a grey marble that we cut on site to create a chic and elegant space. Both the vanity and medicine cabinets were custom made from clean, walnut wood slabs.
